My specialty is traditional Horary astrology. My work is rooted in careful observation, historical technique, and a sincere desire to help people find clarity through the chart. I approach each consultation with seriousness, honesty, and reverence for the craft.
I have always been a student of astrology, and in 2020 I chose to take my passion further. I began with modern astrology but quickly sensed that something was missing. I came to understand that astrology extends beyond personality and is, at its root, a divinatory practice.
I went on to study Hellenistic astrology under Adam Elenbaas at Nightlight Astrology, where I successfully completed the first and second year of his program. Afterward, I continued my studies independently, drawing from authors and astrologers such as Benjamin Dykes, Demetra George, the late Robert Zoller.
In 2024, I began studying horary astrology on my own using John Frawley’s Horary Textbook. In 2025, I enrolled in the Traditional Horary course taught by Chris Brennan and Rob Bailey, which I successfully completed. I then went on to perform 500 horary readings free of charge in exchange for experience. This process proved to be both effective and transformative, and as of January 2026, I began offering horary readings professionally.
My goal as an astrologer is to assist others on their journey, and in time, to teach and share what I have learned with students so that the tradition may continue to be passed down.
Hi, I’m Jeff! I am an astrologer from Western North Carolina.
What is Horary?
Horary is a branch of traditional astrology used to answer specific questions by casting a chart for the moment a querent asks a question of an astrologer. Traditionally, this is the moment the question leaves the lips of the querent and reaches the ears of the astrologer, or more precisely the moment the astrologer clearly understands the question being asked. If the question is asked in writing, such as through a letter or email, the chart is cast for the time the astrologer reads and comprehends it.
Unlike natal astrology, which analyzes a birth chart, Horary focuses entirely on the moment the question arises. That moment is believed to contain the symbolic pattern that reflects the situation and its potential outcome. The astrologer then examines the houses, planetary rulers, aspects, and the conditions of the planets to determine the answer.
Horary questions are typically concrete and focused, such as whether a relationship will develop, whether a lost item will be found, whether someone will get a job, or what the outcome of a situation may be. In this way, the chart becomes a symbolic map of the question itself, revealing the relationship between the querent, the matter being asked about, and the likely resolution.
